Long-distance move from Anaheim, CA to Vero Beach, FL

James O'Connor Coordinator.

Please Do Your Homework Before Ever Using This Company. James O'Connor is nothing but a con artist and liar. He will tell you one thing and totally do something else. This company sucks and should be out of business for there ethics. I wish I could give them zero stars. They never picked up my car as scheduled. It finally got picked up 2 days later. There were no weather issues, no break down issues, just plain lying. James O'Connor will tell you only what you want to hear. He will not deliver what he says and you will be sorry. Please read multiple sites for reviews and NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.

Great Service.

I recieved EXCELLENT service with direct auto. Speaking with Judy first, she made me feel comfortable with having my car transported. Talking to her was like I was talking to family. My car was picked up the SAME day I called and was delivered the next day without a scratch! The truck driver Ziad, was just as friendly as Judy!! He called me to let me know his ETA and he was right on time! This company IS ON POINT!! They truly make you feel like family.. I think I love these guys!! I AM MORE THAN SATISFIED!!

Long-distance move from Illinois to Massachusetts

Scam, Avoid at All Costs.

Due to my location, my Father, Grandfather, and I all signed a contract saying that for a deposit of $125, my 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible would be picked up on 5/25/15 from IL in order to be shipped to MA. I needed the two of them to hold the car in my Grandfather's driveway until it got picked up, which is the only reason they were required to sign. My deposit and credit card info was also taken over the phone, which concerned me since there was no real receipt or electronic tracking.

It was not picked up on the 25th or 26th, yet the three of us were continually told to "just wait until tomorrow," or "they'll be there in an hour, I promise." After getting the feeling we were being scammed, I went online to read reviews about the company, to which I found several complaints that sounded similar to my experience.

Not wanting to be tricked, and also needing my car for work, I immediately called the company on the morning of 5/27/15 to CANCEL my order, and to request a REFUND of the $125 deposit I paid. James O'Connor, the sales rep, and Randy, the customer service rep, both tried to get me to keep my reservation, but I insisted and after about 30 minutes of threatening to sue, James finally told me he would submit a request for refund and cancel my auto pick up immediately. He told me that the request would be processed within 48 hours and the credit would post shortly.

After not seeing any progress, I called the company again and was put on hold. It is now 6/3/15 and no credit has been issued. I called the company this morning (6/3/15), and was told that I may not even get a refund because "the truck was on it's way to pick up the car when the order was cancelled." This indicates to me that James, the sales rep, did NOT, in fact, submit the cancellation OR refund request until later, when he knew the truck would already be on it's way. This was done in order to ensure that my money would not be refunded to me. Upon asking about the refund request form date, it was, in fact, confirmed by Randy, the customer service rep, that James, the sales rep did not request the refund until the FOLLOWING day, 5/28/15.

I have already had my car shipped by another company. I do not want anything except for my deposit of $125 back, but I will take legal action if it is not resolved shortly.

The Best Service!!

My Husband and I can't be honestly happier with Direct Auto Carrier.  In particular, James Oçonnor was the most sincere, honest and professional sales rep I have ever done business with.  Not only was our Mercedes picked up on time, James kept constant communication with us throughout the transportation process.  The staff at direct auto carrier are truly the best in the industry.  We had a bad experience dealing with an auto broker in the past who truly did us wrong.  Direct Auto Carrier is the real deal.  You can't go wrong with them.  especially James.  Excellent Job Direct Auto Carrier and James.   We will be calling you again and will recommend all our friends and family to you.

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Washington

Horrible Service!

This company is difficult to contact. The customer service department and dispatch are the same person (jerrod). Everyday I would call and Jerrod would say the driver would be coming to get my car and Never showed up! He would give me the same story everyday that the driver would arrive around 5 pm which was after he left the office! They never called to follow up on status of pickup and after the one phone call of a promise to pick up that day they would not answer the phone the remainder of the day!! Do not use this fraudulent company! They also require a $125 deposit that you have to write a request of refund if they don't pick up as expected in 10 days of requested date. This company has wasted countless hours of my time and money!!

Long-distance move from Colorado to Virginia

Outstanding Customer Service from Direct Auto Carrier & James.

We were hounded by numerous shady companies and sales reps who appeared to not be honest. I can't believe the amount of sales reps who would disparage and bad mouth other competitors. What was refreshing to us was that James was totally honest and sincere. Most important, James described the auto shipping industry and provided a professional account of his wonderful company. I say wonderful because the level of outstanding customer service we experienced cannot be surpassed by any other transport company. James and the dispatch office of Direct kept up great communication and informed us on a timely basis throughout the pickup from Colorado to Virginia. Great job Direct and James and our driver who made sure our BMW made the journey fully intact and in great condition.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Michigan

Nest Company to Transport Your Car.

I was looking for a company to transport my 1995 SL500 Mercedes from Millstone Township, New Jersey to Grand Rapids, Michigan. I put the information on the Internet that I was looking to transport an SL500. I literally received so many incoming e-mails everyday for weeks from the transport companies that I couldn't respond to all of them. I received quotes from $550.00 to $625.00 and above. Also the calls did not stop coming in. I spoke with many of the sales people and had some trouble understanding them because their accents were so thick. Also when I was talking to the sales people who called me, they told me that they were brokers. I had a feeling of mistrust. They were either fast talkers or promised me the world. I still continued to do my search online for transport companies.

I was lucky enough to click on a site which was Direct Auto Carrier. The one thing that caught my attention was that Direct Auto Carrier claimed to have their own trucks. That impressed me. My concern with the other transport companies, who were brokers, was that once they delivered my car to my son, they would hold him up for more money. That is something that some movers will do, such as demand more money or put the belongings or car in storage. I experienced that when my boyfriend, now my husband, moved his belongings to my home.

I called Direct Auto Carrier and spoke with James O'Connor. It was nice to speak to someone who I could understand and who was able to understand what I needed. I felt very confident in his company when I heard his voice. His voice sounded honest. To my surprise. his quote was the lowest that I had received. I decided to go with Direct Auto Carrier not because it was the lowest quote but because I felt that James was honest. I signed the contract. A dispatcher called me and told me that the car would be picked up on Thursday 9/7 at 3:00PM. I was surprised when the transport was at my residence earlier than expected, which was wonderful. The driver assured me that the car would be delivered the next day 9/8 to Grand Rapids, Michigan at 9:00AM Friday morning. My son called me Friday morning to let me know that the car was delivered at 9:00AM. He also told me that the driver was in constant contact with him to let him know where he was on the road.

If I had another car to transport, I would, without hesitation, call James O'Connor at Direct Auto Carrier.

Long-distance move from California to New York

Direct Auto Carrier and James is the Best in the Industry.

We chose James O'Connor and Direct Auto Carrier because they are a real family owned DOT licensed carrier company. They provided us with the best customer service and got my BMW safely and without a mark or dent across country to New York. The journey only took 6 days and both James and Frank, Direct's driver kept in constant communication to us throughout. The Service and level of professionalism cannot be beat from Direct. We checked many other companies and found the majority of them to be shady and just plain terrible. We will continue to spread the word about Direct Auto Carrier and James O'Connor with all our friends and family. They are the absolute best in the industry!!

Long-distance move from Alexandria, VA to Camas, WA

Last Minute Price Increase and Cancellation.

Despite my best efforts to do my research and schedule the auto transport a month before shipment..I was left with a difficult decision to pay more money 300$ more or cancel the shipment 48hrs before pickup.

James O'Connor sent me an email with the following statement: "We have an issue with your pickup scheduled for Saturday. As you know we made this reservation back on March 20th for this pickup. What has happened these last two weeks are that the transportation
rates for going cross country have gone up tremendously. The diesel fuel rates have gone up. As much as I tried to keep your rate as low as possible, we cannot find a driver that is willing to transport
your two vehicles at the low rate we originally agreed with. All the drivers are asking for $300 above the amount we originally agreed to get your two vehicles picked up."

After a phone call explaining my dissatisfaction with their predatory practice, I received another email within minutes canceling my move and putting me in a terrible situation 2 days before a move.

Bottom-line- I would not recommend this company. Their failures as a business cost me significant time and additional money. How would you have reacted with such an email from the coordinator?
